The original topography of the land has been preserved as much as possible and the house barely touches the ground.
Under the residence there is a rough concrete ramp path that smoothly changes direction, surrounded by a lot of greenery, overcoming the difference in level of more than 30m between the sidewalk and the end of the lot. This route leads first to the atrium, a large space under the social area where an incredible view is revealed, and from there it is possible to access the house or continue the descent, passing by the exposed concrete music studio and then through the trees towards from a secret beach, on the strip of sand and rocks to the Guaíba river.
The large openings of the residence are like frames for the landscape, from where new angles and different points of view are discovered. Sometimes at the sky from the skylights in the social area, sometimes at the green in the side windows, also at the internal courtyard in the large double-height glass pane next to the stairs, or at the main view, where you can see the Guaíba from floor to ceiling frames in the social area and master suite.
When the windows on the facade overlooking the river are open, it is possible to feel the silence of that place, which is only interrupted by the noise of birds.
Casa Mirador is a combination of elements that connect in harmony: the solidity and precision of the metal structure dialogues with the surroundings of preserved nature and the immensity of the Guaíba.
The end of the afternoon at Casa Mirador is magical, the colors of the horizon are transformed at sunset until they reach night, when the Guaíba becomes a great void in the darkness and you can see the lights on the other side.”
